Are you overwhelmed by comment spam on your blog that is powered by WordPress? Are you sick of checking your spam comments for legitimate spam?
I know that I was, and so I have taken a big step and opted to stop receiving comments directly on my blog posts.
As a blog owner that hasn’t reached a status similar to the likes to Darren Rowse, Michael Hyatt or John Saddington and have hundreds of legitimate comments on each blog post. I am certain that these bloggers certainly face thousands of spam comments as well since their comments are open for all people to comment.
With their large following, they have decided to create a team of people to be Community Leaders around them that can help with the moderation of comments and the general day-to-day running of the blog. Unfortunately I don’t have a community around me, and can’t employ someone to manage my incoming comments here on Itsonlybarney.com, so I have decided to read comments left for me using my contact form, or you can join the discussion on social media where I post links back to the article.
What are you doing to combat comment spam? Does it work for you?
If you are seeing this blog post, it means that the server and domain migration has succeeded.
I have moved Itsonlybarney.com to a VPS from VPS Unlimited. So far stability hasn’t been an issue, and at the moment it looks to be performing well.
Please email me if you see a problem.
Even in times of trouble and pain, when we are beaten by the world and by Satan, God is there with us. He will shield us, and hold us high as we do his work. When we cry out to God, he listens and answers us, sometimes not in the way we hope he answers.
The speaking in tongues is actually the fulfilling of prophesy from Joel. Peter then goes on to share the Gospel of Jesus with the crowd (approximately 3000 people) that are around the Apostles.
Even when Jesus was a baby, people of the world were worried that Jesus would conquer the world. Herod in particular thought that it would a physical/war type conquering even though God had intended it to be otherwise.
God saw that the world was heading in a direction that he didn’t want the world to go, and so he selected Noah and his family to build an ark to house the animals and his family from the flood that God was sending to the earth. Noah did as he was commanded by God.

We have a gov wanting a budget surplus when we have just recorded negligible GDP growth. With a Fed Gov spending $200 million on feasibility studies that will probably never receive further funding from the Fed gov because the NSW gov doesn’t have the money to actually do a proper study. We have a Fed gov that could fix up the share of GST coming to NSW but hasn’t and then wonder why the economy of NSW is stagnating considering we put in a bigger share of the GST revenue. I’m sorry Ed, but I can’t see myself voting for a government who whinged in the past about the Liberals, but can’t/won’t correct the wrongs that were whinged about when (Labor were) in opposition.
An angel was sent to Joseph by God to tell him that Mary would give birth to Jesus just as was prophesied in Isaiah 7:14. The angel also told Joseph that name he was to give to Jesus.
Since Judas had betrayed Jesus, the disciples decided to choose one of Jesus followers to replace Judas. They didn’t take the decision lightly and actually asked God for wisdom, something that we as Christians should be doing regularly.
God has given us the chance to live a good life, free of any evil, however we are human and would go with the easier option, often sinning against God. Eve took the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, because she was deceived by the serpent, otherwise known as Satan as he wants all people to turn away from God.
The Lord looks down from Heaven and sees people who are trying to conspire against the Lord, and he laughs at them at their futility because God has installed Jesus as the King. God blesses those who take refuge in him rather than trying to plot against him.
Lord, thank you for sending Jesus down to earth to correct the wrongs that we have done. We are human and need your help to resist the temptations given to us by Satan. I ask that you help us to realise that we need your help and that we should rely on you for tough decisions in everyday life. Amen.
Jesus heritage can be traced back to Abraham, the Abraham that is found in Genesis in the Old Testament. This shows that Jesus was not only sent for people of now, but also for the Jews.
We don’t know, and we won’t be told the time when Jesus is returning, but while we are waiting the Holy Spirit will be amongst us while we are to be witnesses of Jesus.
The formation of the earth, my personal belief is that this isn’t a literal description of the way that God formed the earth, as some people have counted the world to be 4000 years old based on the Bible, but science says the earth is approximately 4.5 billions years old.
God will bless those who walk in his ways and live their lives in the way that God had intended them to live.
Thank you God that you sent Jesus to walk on the earth for all people and that you formed a world that we could enjoy as your followers as it was intended while we await for the return of Jesus. We thank you for sending the Holy Spirit to guide us while we await Jesus’ return. Amen.
I’m tidying up Itsonlybarney.com and turning it into more of a personal website, and WordPress related code, tutorials and reviews will now be part of a more appropriate website, Powered by WordPress.
I like playing with WordPress, in particular WordPress themes that are built upon the Genesis theme framework and I have shared my thoughts about WordPress and themes here on the blog, but I would rather this site be primarily a personal part of my online presence, and I dedicate a site to my learning about WordPress and Genesis, and that is what this move is about.

If the majority own 10-12 pairs, and a minimalist owns 6 pairs of shoes, what does that make me with just 3 pairs? Tight arse?
